Over 250 Ford cars and trucks are available for sale in the Ford Nationals Car Corral. The best part about the car corral is that you can meet with the seller, drive the vehicle, negotiate your own price and see and touch the car in person. Carlisle Events and the Downtown Carlisle Association present the second annual Ford Parade and Downtown Street Party on Saturday, June 2.

Automotive enthusiasts, specifically those interested in the FOMOCO brands, will line the streets of downtown Carlisle to see a wide array of cars showcased during the Carlisle Ford Nationals. The parade field will be limited to only 400 Ford, Lincoln and/or Mercury vehicles.

The parade will be led by a select group of Ford officials showing off some of their hot new products! In addition to the parade, spectators can enjoy specialty vehicles such as race cars and a wide variety of food, fanfare and quality live entertainment.

Thousands saw for the first time ever in one location, the coolest, baddest and most complete display of Shelby GT500 KR Mustangs on this planet with the Hall of Kings display.

The display featured pristine KRs from the golden years of the '60s and fresh horses from their rebirth during the early years of this new millennium. This was also an “Official Team Shelby” event supported by Shelby American with factory representatives on site.

Our friends from Rausch Creek were on site to share some of their training and expertise for off road enthusiasts and those with a basic off road interest.

Staff from Rausch Creek Off Road Park were on site with trainers certified by the International Four Wheel Drive Trainers Association to inform and educate those who wanted to go on the rocks and off the road!

Building Y featured an awesome display of Ford design and performance history featuring the 1961 Galaxie Starliner. Considered by many to be the best looking of the classic big Galaxies, the Starliner even won a design award from an international design authority. The Centro per L'Alta Moda Italiana presented its award for "functional expression of classic beauty" to the 1961 Starliner.

The '61 Starliner was the first Ford and the first manufacturer to top the magical 400 hp barrier with its 401 hp three two-barrel offering. Having just emerged from an industry-wide ban on direct participation in motorsports, the Starliner would become the poster child for the new "Total Performance" years at Ford. This was one of the most unique and exciting displays of Ford vehicles ever presented to the public.

Imagine more Pintos in one place than you have ever seen before. At the 2011 Carlisle Ford Nationals, it happened. Following a more than 1,600 mile journey beginning in Denver, Colorado, more than 25 Pintos cruised in and were joined by nearly 40 more for an amazing array celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the birth of the Pinto.

“Young Guns at Carlisle” is a class limited to owners age 25 and younger, male or female. It is open to all makes & models of FOMOCO produced vehicles (Ford, Lincoln, Mercury & Euro vehicles). You must be the registered owner of the vehicle. All “Young Guns” will be located together in an area reserved exclusively for them on the National Parts Depot sponsored Showfield, just like the Cougars, Mustangs and etc. Judging will be People’s Choice, just like the other classes. This is a great way for younger people in our hobby to meet and show off what they are doing with their cars. A time for the heirs of this sport to “Strut Their Stuff!”

Ford is bringing back the Boss 302 in a back way for 2012. At the Ford Nationals, you'll be able to see a great selection of Boss cars, both new and classic. One special Boss that you will certainly want to see is Ford's new Boss 302 race car. The car will be in Carlisle for the entire weekend. You'll also be able to see the Boss and many other great Ford autos in the Ford Parade and Street Party, Saturday night in downtown Carlisle.

In addition to the competition among the cars on the Ford Nationals NPD Showfield, there is a battle between clubs to see who has the most cars registered. As a bonus, we offer the use of a 20’ X 20’ tent to those clubs who register 25 vehicles or more by May 3, 2011. These tents are a great place to take a break and they make a great club headquarters for the weekend. Larger clubs may be eligible for a bigger tent. Contact us for details.

Thousands enjoyed a “walk-around” as Ford’s specialists took them through the story behind the development of the newest exciting Ford products. The Product Developers were on hand following their product presentations to answer questions.

The Carlisle Expo Center located one block outside of gate 3 was once again the place to be for Ford test drives. Thousands explored the current lineup of new Ford and Lincoln Mercury products in air-conditioned comfort. T-shirts and free ice cream were available for all who got behind the wheel.

The Team Shelby North East Region proudly presented Ms. Carlisle 2011. Contestants at the Ford Nationals competed for cash prizes on Saturday evening at the Grandstand.

The Hot Rodders of Tomorrow is a high school level engine build competition. Students compete for time and accuracy as they tear down an engine and rebuild it. Schools in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions are eligible to compete in the regional battle. Finals for each regional winner are held during the 2012 SEMA show in Las Vegas. This is a great program with a lot of automotive industry support.

At the 2011 SEMA Finals, the University of Northwest Ohio, the School of Automotive Machinists and the Ohio Technical College teamed up to offer nearly $1,000,000 in scholarship money, with $10,000 going to each student on the first place team.
